B.S. in Health Sciences Team Building (Mod 5 CSA) Essay
B.S. in Health Sciences Team Building (Mod 5 CSA) - Essay Example (HR Website) Execution evaluation is done routinely in an association for the most part in a time of one year. The fundamental reason for this is to enable the workers to improve their exhibition and increment their efficiency which are in accordance with the corporate objectives of the organization. With the presentation assessment, workers can distinguish their qualities and shortcomings so they can develop themselves. Five components are thought of while assessing the representatives including work information and abilities, correspondence, cooperation, quality concerns and efficiency (HR Website). Educating your representatives concerning the exhibition input is as significant as doing the presentation appraisal since this permits the workers to get mindful of what others in the association think about the activity the individual is doing. Administrators should ensure that any adverse input ought not verge on an individual assault and ought to be kept unoriginal. During recent months, I think my group has not been performing sufficient. The individuals from the group can't facilitate appropriately with one another and when one is working in a group, coordination among the colleagues is significant. The social insurance group isn't fulfilling the clients as it ought to be. As a chief, the representatives are hesitant to demonstrate their disappointment to me might be a direct result of the employment loses implying that they stay great and appear to be persevering workers when I am watching them out. This is the situation since recent months and when I became more acquainted with about this by rehashed client objections, I attempted to make sense of the issue. What's more, after some difficult work I discovered that one reason for the client's grievances was from the individuals working for the night move. Representatives working under night move work with their achievability as the chief, that is me, isn't there to take care of them so there isn't a lot of check and equalization on them. What's more, the chief, whose work is to keep a check and parity when I am not accessible, is likewise not carrying out his responsibility appropriately. Another issue related is that it's in our association that the representatives are perceived for their individual work in any event, when they are working in groups. In a manner it is acceptable on the grounds that it rouses that individual who is being perceived by the chief however the issue is that we don't give thankfulness with respect to the group in general for the most part. Consequently representatives are very little propelled to function as groups. (Harris, 2004) It was anything but a simple errand to assess how the workers had acted in the previous eighteen months. I needed to really get old of the grass root reasons. The issue was that the significant issue was of the night move individuals along these lines the representatives working in the day move likewise didn't knew well. I assembled an assessment structure for the emoployees however no solid outcome was found from that on the grounds that the workers were intentionally mindful that they were being assessed subsequently they were delivering acceptable n may be phony answers. In view of the powerless framework or apathetic evaluator or absence of genuineness, the assessment is exceptionally abstract. In the assessment procedure, the essential accentuation is on the past instead of on the future accordingly representatives probably won't answer appropriately as the odds of enhancements are less (McConnell and Umiker 2005). Ordinarily representatives don't get positive input from the

Ancient Egyptian Mathematics Essays - Religion, Egyptian Gods
Old Egyptian Mathematics Old Egyptian Science The utilization of sorted out science in Egypt has been gone back to the third thousand years BC. Egyptian science was commanded by number juggling, with an accentuation on estimation and figuring in geometry. With their tremendous information on geometry, they had the option to effectively compute the regions of triangles, square shapes, and trapezoids furthermore, the volumes of figures, for example, blocks, chambers, and pyramids. They were likewise ready to fabricate the Great Pyramid with extraordinary exactness. Early assessors found that the greatest mistake in fixing the length of the sides was just 0.63 of an inch, or under 1/14000 of the all out length. They likewise found that the mistake of the edges at the corners to be as it were 12, or around 1/27000 of a correct edge (Smith 43). Three hypotheses from science were found to have been utilized in building the Great Pyramid. The main hypothesis expresses that four symmetrical triangles were set together to construct the pyramidal surface. The subsequent hypothesis expresses that the proportion of one of the sides to half of the tallness is the surmised esteem of P, or that the proportion of the border to the stature is 2P. It has been found that early pyramid manufacturers may have considered the thought that P approached about 3.14. The third hypothesis expresses that the edge of height of the section prompting the chief chamber decides the scope of the pyramid, about 30o N, or that the section itself focuses to what was then known as the shaft star (Smith 44). Antiquated Egyptian science was based on two basic ideas. The main idea was that the Egyptians had an intensive information on the twice-times table. The subsequent idea was that they had the capacity to discover 66% of any number (Gillings 3). This number could be either basic or fragmentary. The Egyptians utilized the portion 2/3 utilized with aggregates of unit parts (1/n) to communicate every other part. Utilizing this framework, they had the option to fathom all issues of math that included parts, just as some rudimentary issues in variable based math (Berggren). The study of arithmetic was further progressed in Egypt in the fourth thousand years BC than it was anyplace else on the planet right now. The Egyptian schedule was presented about 4241 BC. Their year comprised of a year of 30 days each with 5 celebration days toward the year's end. These celebration days were committed to the divine beings Osiris, Horus, Seth, Isis, and Nephthys (Gillings 235). Osiris was the divine force of nature and vegetation and was instrumental in cultivating the world. Isis was Osiris' better half and their child was Horus. Seth was Osiris' abhorrent sibling and Nephthys was Seth's sister (Weigel 19). The Egyptians separated their year into 3 seasons that were 4 months each. These seasons included immersion, approaching, and summer. Immersion was the planting time frame, approaching was the developing time frame, and summer was the gather time frame. They additionally decided a year to be 365 days so they were near the real year of 365 days (Gillings 235). When examining the historical backdrop of polynomial math, you find that it began back in Egypt and Babylon. The Egyptians knew the most effective method to tackle straight (ax=b) and quadratic (ax2+bx=c) conditions, too as vague conditions, for example, x2+y2=z2 where a few questions are included (Dauben). The most punctual Egyptian writings were composed around 1800 BC. They comprised of a decimal numeration framework with separate images for the progressive forces of 10 (1, 10, 100, etc), much the same as the Romans (Berggren). These images were known as hieroglyphics. Numbers were spoken to by recording the image for 1, 10, 100, and so on the same number of times as the unit was in the given number. For instance, the number 365 would be spoken to by the image for 1 composed multiple times, the image for 10 composed multiple times, and the image for 100 composed three times. Expansion was finished by totaling independently the units-1s, 10s, 100s, etc in the numbers to be included. Increase was in light of progressive doublings, and division depended on the backwards of this procedure (Berggren). The first of the most established expand composition on arithmetic was written in Egypt around 1825 BC. It was called the Ahmes treatise. The Ahmes composition was not composed to be a course reading, yet for use as a functional handbook. It contained material on direct conditions of such kinds as x+1/7x=19 and managed widely on unit divisions. It likewise had a lot of work on mensuration, the demonstration, procedure, or craft of estimating, and remembers issues for basic arrangement (Smith 45-48). The

Research the Current Manufacturing Situation in Canada - 1650 Words
Research the Current Manufacturing Situation in Canada (Coursework Sample) Content: Canadaà ¢Ã¢â ¬s manufacturing sectorNameInstituteA growing number of Canadians are worried about the countryà ¢Ã¢â ¬s manufacturing sector that appears to be declining or stagnating. Canada, as observed by The National Post is being deindustrialized (para.1) Tencer (2014) shares in this observation "stagnation is now stretching well into its second decade" (para.16). Comparing Canadaà ¢Ã¢â ¬s manufacturing output to that of the US; he found that the countryà ¢Ã¢â ¬s [Canada] production had declined by 11.5 percent. A scrutiny of the situation reveals that Canadaà ¢Ã¢â ¬s manufacturing sector has shrunk, but there is no reason to panic. Paperny (2014) found that "the number of Ontarians working in manufacturing jobs reached a 38-year low in Statistics Canadaà ¢Ã¢â ¬s most recent jobs numbers" (para.1). Politicians have made the situation worse by linking stagnation in manufacturing to the declining number of workers employed in the sector. Over the pa st year, Canada has lost about 1.3 percent of its manufacturing jobs. He noted that whereas production handled more than a fifth of Ontarioà ¢Ã¢â ¬s GDP in 2002, it had shrunk to 12.2 percent by 2013 (as cited in Statistics Canada). In the southern areas of Canada, Radwanski (2014) emphasizes the dire situation in his observation that Windsor in particular, "while young people must look elsewhere for work, older ones do not know where to look at all" (para.5).Competition for markets has significantly affected the Canadian economy. According to Statistics Canada (2009), liberalization of trade has hit the Canadian manufacturing sectorà ¢Ã¢â ¬s opportunities in the U.S. export markets, intensifying competition from foreign producers. The publication goes on to reveal that apart from changes in trade tariffs, the manufacturing sector faced challenges from demand shifts. Demand for inputs and raw materials used in manufacturing have continued to grow. However, growth in capital i nputs been higher compared to growth in capital services. This growth has seen lower number of people employed in the manufacturing sector. Paperny (2014, para.17) argues that the industrial sector in Canada was undergoing a transition (as cited in Moffat, 2015). Traditional manufacturing involves having a lot of people in a factory. With advancement in technology and production practices, the industry has seen an increase in machinery that has replaced human beings. With advanced technology, another challenge comes to the fore: matching the people who need work with the skills required by employers. There is a need for a better way to connect the two parties (Paperny, 2014, para.19).The future is bright for Canada as more countries are shying away from China and India, which are considered to produce goods of lower quality. Instead, Tencer (2014) observes that companies prefer products manufactured with greater quality and consistency attributes which Canada possesses (as cited by KPMG). The country has also invested heavily in clean technology which in addition to helping conserve the environment is cheap. In "How clean technology can save Canadian manufacturingà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã , Parry (2014) notes that cost of clean technology wind power installation cost to be precise; has fallen by 50 percent (para.8). The government encouraged growth in the manufacturing sector introduced the Capital Cost Allowance (CCA) in 2007. This incentive provides a 50 percent straight-line depreciation rate and more than 28,000 businesses in the manufacturing industry have taken advantage of this measure. A proposal has been made to extend this incentive for new manu...

Economics Is A Large Part Of Our Lives - 1745 Words
Economics is a large part of our lives. It has been a part in building our society, and we follow many of its concepts daily. The basis of our decisions such as what to do with our time or money, the study of economics can explain them. In this paper, I will present my own three Case in Point boxes that demonstrate a few economic concepts. This Case in Point box is designed to replace the one from Section 5.1: Price Elasticity of Demand No Matter What the Cost, We Will Take it Source: U.S. Energy Information Administration Every day, the U.S. expends thousands of gallons of gas driving to the store, picking up their kid, going to work, or driving to places they want to visit. Driving generally allows faster and simpler means ofâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦In 2000, the total fuel consumption for motor vehicles in the United States was 162,554 million gallons of oil. After 12 years of price increase, the average price of fuel in 2012 was $3.68 with fuel consumption reaching 168,395 million gallons. The estimated price elasticity of demand for the years 2000-2012 is 0.025 and therefore price inelastic. As shown in the graph, over the course of 12 recent years, there hasnââ¬â¢t been much change in gas consumption. Despite some years having a drop or rise in gas prices of almost 30%, the greatest changes in year-to-year consumption have only been about -4% and 2.4%. Although gas prices can increase greatly, they remain an important part of getting around. While there are alternatives such as walking or public transportation, driving may be the better option. People need to get to work and get around and driving is usually more convenient. In addition, prices wonââ¬â¢t stop trucks and people from delivering goods and services because there arenââ¬â¢t many good alternatives. Sometimes increased prices will cut down consumption a bit, but people cut back on other goods and non-necessities. This Case in Point box is designed to replace the one from Section 3.1: Demand Out With the Old, In With the New A little over a decade ago, Blockbuster was a popular and massive chain store for game, movie, and video rental. My Life Of A Doctor - 925 Words
A stethoscope, box of bandages, syringe, and thermometerââ¬âall made of plastic and enclosed in a small case with a red cross imprinted on the front. These items had been some of my favorite childhood toys and represent how long I have wanted to become a doctor. Apart from a brief carpentry phase when I was 7, I honestly cannot recall a time when my mind was not focused on a future career in medicine. Part of this early interest was undoubtedly spurred by my familyââ¬â¢s history in the field. I have multiple family members who have been nurses or physicians; however, the largest influence was my Father whom I have looked up to as a role model and example of the kind of doctor that I want to be. I loved that my Dad was a doctor. I realized the importance of his career, but mostly I loved always having someone there to help me through all of my minor and major childhood traumas. When I was young and received a gruesome 4th of July sparkler wound, my Dad was able to calm me down and make me feel safe. Although I may have squirmed and cried, I knew my Father could help me because I knew that he was a Doctor and what that meant. I knew the amount of training he had received, the years of school and residency, and most importantly that I could trust him to take care of me. Christianity and the Modern Music Industry free essay sample
Christians have warily accepted secular music when artists have incorporated Christian themes and imagery. A song written by Pete Seeker paraphrasing Ecclesiastic 3 Turn, Turn, Turn (1965), is a perfect example of this union. In this paper, will explore the relationship between Christianity and the modern music industry. It is not my view that the Gospel should cause all the arts to be struck down and disappear; on the contrary, I should like to see all the arts and especially music, used in the service of Him who gave and created them (Martin utter). Emergence of Rock and RollIn his book history of popular music and the emergence of rock and roll, Philip Nines begins with a metaphor depicting children playing a game of rock, paper, and scissors. Nines argues that in the realm of modern music the relations among art, commerce and politics are something like that game; each has some strong power over one another, but, at the same time, is vulnerable too third (Nines, 1992, p. 1). Nonetheless while power in the game is absolute and unidirectional; paper covers rock, rock breaks scissors, and scissors cuts paper; however, power in the music world, varies in both magnitude and direction. While asserting that in American society, art validates money, money regulates politics, and politics defines art, Nines suggests that there are exceptions to the rules and ways in which contradictory relationships can also be argued. The history of music that Nines proposes is the tale of a stormy relationship between art, commerce, and politics (Nines, 1992, p. 1). It provoked trouble right from the start in all three of these areas, and still does (Nines, 1992, p. 1). Art, commerce, and politics; these three are necessary for the understanding the development and history of music. To add a Christian element to the mix of art, commerce, and politics means to add to it equally problematic tensions that epitomize modern Christianity. This creates a whirlwind of conflict, a stormy relationship, indeed. Contemporary Christian Music Contemporary Christian music is a genre that merges two distinct musical streams; the safe, acceptable church music on one hand and rock and roll on the other. Each component continues to exist independently of contemporary Christian music, and yet their paths continue to cross as they evolve.Rock and roll continues to influence the styles found in contemporary Christian sic, which continuously alters the landscape of church music as well. Contemporary Christian music began in the late sixties and seventies with a folk-pop sound like James Taylor. The genre today is applied to most styles of contemporary popular music. Christian heavy metal, Christian rap, Christian new age, and Christian alternative rock can be found lining the shelves at your local music store under the label contemporary Christian. The name Contemporary Christian itself does not imply a certain style Of music, but labels the message that it contains.Music that contains lyrics about Jesus Christ or other Christian references are labeled Christian contemporary while music that does not is simply called secular. Does contemporary Christian music violate tradition? Contemporary Christian music has not cultivated without opposition. Critics in the church, the music industry, and even amongst the fans raised moral objections. The most frequent and basic objection came from moralists within the church. They argued that rock and roll with Christian lyrics was an abomination, and should not, in good conscience be played by Christians. The line of thought from these fundamentalist Christians follows the theory that sock and roll music is evil and that rock music drives people into sexual frenzies. These were some of the assumptions that fueled the objections of a well-known Christian leader named Jimmy Swaggers. In his book Religious rock n roll: a wolf in sheeps clothing, Swaggers states, The new so-called contemporary Christian music is incompatible with true Biblical Christianity. Emphatically state that its impossible to touch anyones heart with contemporary music. The sounds are weird, strange, and odd; correspondent to the minds of the individuals who relate to this type of music. (Swaggers, 1987, p. 35) The emphasis that Swaggers places on the music, rather than the lyrics In contemporary Christian music validates his opinion that it is the beat of the music that is evil. Swaggers, being a prominent Christian leader applies his Biblical worldview to music, not condemning music altogether. On the contrary, he is well known for his active musical ministry, recording over 50 Gospel albums, selling approximately 15 million recordings worldwide (Swaggers, 2011).He is a very gifted musician, and uses his gifts to glorify the Lord through what this paper refers to as church music. Comparing Garrets style of gospel music to anthropometry Christian music is like comparing apples to slightly different flavored apples. In his mind, however, it is enough of a difference to apply his Christian worldview, condemning it as anti-Christian. Ironically enough, if you were to look for his albums amongst the shelves of your local music store, you would find them in the contemporary Christian music section.Although he would certainly disagree that he should be placed in a special section labeled church music. Garrets statements are not completely subjective. His opinions are based in scripture, for instance, Dont copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think (Romans 12:12). This verse, when applied through Garrets Christian worldview towards music, tells us that music that is of this world, or contemporary society, is not something that we should openly accommodate. This is only a partial application of the verse. If you look at the second part, it can be reasoned that God can transform your thinking about contemporary music, changing said music altogether. If changing contemporary music involves applying the transformations God has instilled, then it becomes something altogether different. It remains contemporary, but becomes about Him. Swaggers does not agree with this application of scripture to music, it does not fit within the bounds of his Christian worldview. What do the Scriptures say? When searching for the truth about contemporary Christian music we must first look at the primary source for all truth, which is Scripture.Wilkins and Sanford point out that Scripture is the foundation for any Christian worldview. They go on to state, Scripture is the first place we look and the final court of appeal in shaping a Christian worldview (Wilkins camp; Sanford, 2009, up. 210-211). While searching scripture for verses that pertain to music, it IS plain to see that God is a lover of music. Come, let us sing to the Lord! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation (Psalms 9511). In this verse, the author associates singing and shouting; two very different sounds, but both done unto the Lord as a form of praise. Shout to the Lord, all the earth; break out in praise and sing for joy! Sing your praise to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and melodious song, with trumpets and the sound of the rams horn. Make a joyful symphony before the Lord, the King! (Psalm 98:4-6) The author on this passage sings praises accompanied by musical instruments, including the harp, trumpets, and even a rams horn. Compare the music of the harp to that of the other two. The harp is soft, soothing, quiet music. The trumpet is loud and high-pitched.The rams horn is low and throaty, emitting more of a groan than a note. These three instruments have exceptionally diverse sounds. In this text, all three are used to make a joyful symphony in praising the Lord. Praise him for his mighty works; praise his unequaled greatness! Praise him with a blast of the rams horn; praise him with the lyre and harp! Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes! Praise him with a clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals. Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord! Psalms 150:2-6) These verses portray a vast array of instruments being used in praising the Lord. The author praises using the rams horn, the tambourine, strings and flutes, a clash of cymbals, and loud clanging cymbals. With the addition of dancing, this Psalm sounds more like a rock concert than old seasoned church music! These scriptures describe vocal effects and instruments that are used in creating the beat of the music. And by the very nature of these instruments themselves, they gravitate toward a faster paced tempo that foreshadows modern contemporary Christian music. The Bible is packed full of these scriptures, dozens in the book of Psalms alone, all pointing to a general conclusion; God loves music! He loves a melodious choir, harmonize in perfect pitch singing gospel hymns. He doesnt mind if the Sunday morning singing is a little off-key, as long as it is making a joyful noise. Whether it be shouting unto the Lord, dancing in the isles, shaking a tambourine, blowing a horn, either made of metal, or even a real animal horn! He loves all of out attempts at giving him p raise on Sunday morning. But it doesnt stop there I will praise the Lord at all times. Will constantly speak his praises (Psalms 34: 1), he wants us to praise Him all the time, not just on Sunday morning, and not just in our church music. Is contemporary Christian music reasonable? Scripture provides truth, which is a very important factor in developing a Christian worldview. However, a Well-rounded Christian worldview needs to ring all reality under its scrutiny, our rational capacities must be employed to gather and analyze this information (Wilkins ; Sanford, 2009, p. 11). In this paper it has already been determined that contemporary Christian music is, in fact, music. It has also been proven through scriptures that God loves all music. Logic dictates that since God loves all music, and contemporary Christian music is music, then reason proves that God loves contemporary Christian music. Using that same logic, however, since God loves all music, is it necessary to use all music in praising Him? Reason says o, God is praised in the simplest shout onto Him; therefore there is no need in variety of music styles. Not in Gods eyes anyhow. We are the reason for the diversity in music. Our culture, our talent, even our age plays an important factor in how we choose to praise God. He does not require this of us, human nature with all its variables does. Thinking reasonably, since each one Of us is different, and each one Of us created with our own free will, then each one of us may choose to interact differently with our Lord. People that love the beat and rhythm of a particular kind of music will naturally be drawn o that style of music in their worship. If they really are praising God with their hearts, then God listens more to their attitude of worship more then to the beat of the drums. What does experience say? Experience is a term that requires careful definition because it involves ones personal feelings (Wilkins Sanford, 2009, p. 213). Researching this subject is nearly impossible, because it involves my personal experiences, which may or may not fit with someone elses worldview. My experience with contemporary Christian music dates back to 1991. I was fifteen years of age, and I was infatuated with rock music, specifically heavy teal rock music. This genre of music, in my young grasp of understanding, was not the kind of music you would want your parents catching you listening to. In fact, on several occasions recall my father destroying cassette tapes that he found to be objectionable. At this point in time, my worldview was not yet grounded in Christianity, so to me this secular style of music was acceptable. I cannot remember whom, but someone gave me a copy of an album containing the music of a band named Deliverance. It was the very same kind of music that loved to listen to, but the lyrics were different. The title track Weapons of our Warfare (Brown, 1990) was a paraphrase of Second Corinthians 104-5. This music was definitely contemporary, but it unashamedly described the carnality of man and the strength that can be gained by trusting in God. This music spoke to me in a revolutionary way, causing my whole worldview to change regarding music. I still listened to the music that I loved, however that music now had purpose, it wasnt just entertainment, it was teaching me the truths about Christianity. My relationship with the Lord grew because Of contemporary Christian music, and still does to this very day. Eve used contemporary Christian music as a witness tool; many conversations were sparked based on the lyrics of music was listening to in public, conversations that never would have happened had been listening to secular music. I have felt the warmth of the Holy Spirit while worshiping in church to contemporary Christian music. I know, without a doubt, that God has taken delight in praises that I have sung to Him using contemporary Christian music as a tool of worship. My worldview on modern music (Summary) Traditionally, music is a complicated mixture of art, politics, and commerce.Contemporary Christian music adds the dynamic Of a Christian undertone to this music. Contemporary Christian music is a very emotional, and sometimes controversial combination, often dividing sides between pro- and anti- contemporary Christian listeners. Scripture reinforces that God is a lover of all kinds of music, and all kinds of musical instruments. All are called to praise Him in all their undertakings, including musical expression. He does not differentiate praises because of their accompaniment musical style. If worship is sincere, then he will receive it in whatever form it is delivered.Logically speaking since all people are created differently, yet all are created with free will; plausibly all are attracted to different styles of music. Since God created mankind to be that way, He should expect those styles to manifest in the types of praise and worship that He receives. Experience shows that contemporary Christian music is not only an object to be examined though a Christian worldview; it is a tool, which can shape ones pre-existing Christian worldview. It can be a seed that helps to sprout new Christians and help believers witness to those in need of Salvation.
